Tantasqua Regional Junior and Senior High School
The Social Skills Program provides social/emotional development to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Non-Verbal Learning Disability and disorders that impact social development. Social Skills training helps prepare students for their roles in society by teaching them the skills necessary to make effective academic and social progress. Students will be taught skills that will help them communicate effectively, work cooperatively, think critically, form meaningful friendships, solve problems and successfully participate in all school and community activities.
Every social group and/or training session is designed with each of the student’s needs in mind, and a mutli- disciplinary approach is utilized. By applying multiple perspectives, the Social Skills Program creates a rich learning environment composed of flexible, individualized programs that address each individual’s evolving needs, level of proficiency and independence
